Meet our exec board

Who we Are

The College Democrats of Missouri are a student-run organization that works to connect college students with the Democratic Party through social media outreach, dialogue with local chapters, and meeting with legislators to further issues that college students are passionate about. Our 9-member executive board is made up of students from college campuses all around Missouri, and we are passionate about bringing change to our state from the local level.

Ellis

President

"I'm proudly from St. Louis, Missouri and since 2017 I've been a student at Truman State University in Kirksville. I've been involved in Missouri politics since 2016 when I worked as an intern on the Koster for Governor campaign. Since then I've organized for a special election in HD-144 and volunteered on campaigns in Kirksville, St.Louis, and the statewide effort that successfully defeated Right to Work. When I'm not busy trying to promote progressive policies, I'm DJ-ing at 88.7 KTRM or doing educational non-profit work for Civitas."

Dawson

lemmons

Vice President

"I am a senior from Lee’s Summit, MO. I have been passionate about politics from the moment I first saw Jon Stewart on the Daily Show and a spark was ignited. In my free time you’ll find me hiking with friends, looking for the best craft beer or enjoying time with friends."

Mahreen

ansari

Communications Director

"Hi everyone! I'm a third-year student at UMKC where I study Political Science with a minor in International Studies and an emphasis in Pre Law! I am the daughter of Pakistani immigrants, so I care a lot of immigration and international relations. I am also a climate justice activist with Sunrise Movement Kansas City, where I am the Photography, Videography, Instagram, and Equity Lead(s). I care a lot about representation and equity, so I'm hoping to bring some fresh perspectives to the table."

Mason

mcgregor

Political Director

Mason McGregor is a Junior at the University of Missouri--Kansas City. After graduating with his Bachelor’s in Biology, he plans to become a high school teacher before returning for graduate school. Mason is also minoring in Political Science, and is currently President of the UMKC Dems. When he’s not doing schoolwork or coordinating Dems things, he’s working in both his internship with Elad Gross and canvassing position with Representative Greg Razer. Mason is dedicated as Political Director to keep a positive, organized relationship with its members as well as important Democratic figures in order to ensure the advancement of progressive values in Missouri.

Izabella Vodavicky

Development Director

Izabella Vadovicky is a junior at University of Missouri–Kansas City. There she is majoring in political science while also focusing on health sciences and women and gender studies. Bella has been active in the UMKC College Democrats chapter since she started at UMKC; after being involved for only a few months she was elected President there and is now serving her second term. She is very excited to be working as the new Director of Development for CDMO.

Bella originally got started in politics when she took an entire week off of school to attend the DNC when she was only 10 years old. Since getting involved so young, she has worked/volunteered on many campaigns including Barack Obama’s, Hillary Clinton’s and Claire McCaskill’s, to name a few. When she is not working on something politically-oriented Bella is chasing down Corgis (or any other dog), listening to podcasts, buying yet another plant, or going to a concert. She can’t wait to help CDMO grow as the new Director of Development!

Tyler bears

Membership Director: West

“Hi! Your Western Membership Director, Tyler Bears, here! Growing up in rural Missouri, I have learned to appreciate a political voice. I am a student at Northwest where I study Political Science and preside over a College Democrats chapter of my own. Currently, I work with the Missouri Democratic Party as a Fellow. I love political debate and working for social justice. Now I'm fully ready to serve at any capacity that I can!”

Jeffrey bittle

Membership Director: South

Jeffrey Bittle is from the city of Cape Girardeau in Southeast Missouri and studies political science and communication at Mizzou. Seeing the pressing needs for environmental justice, single-payer healthcare, the right to unionize, and anti-corruption measures drove him to politics. Jeffrey’s hobbies include biking, enjoying nature, and experiencing new people and places. He especially loves visiting state parks and walking along the Mississippi River. Someday, he’d love to run for public office, but he doesn’t quite know what his life will look like in the meantime. Aside from being Southern Membership Director, Jeffrey is the Vice President of Mizzou College Democrats, a political fellow at the Missouri Democratic Party, and a perennial volunteer for progressive candidates and causes.

Blain

mcvey

When not on Twitter or looking at election maps/results in my spare time, I love spending time with my friends and family and exploring new places in St. Louis. I have one dog, a 5-6 pound (depending on how recently he's eaten) Yorkie Terrier.”
